Housing Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

Reporting to the Housing Maintenance Foreman, the Housing Maintenance Technician provides hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services across YKDFN housing units. This role focuses on plumbing, boilers, heating systems, and mechanical maintenance, while also supporting general building repairs and preventative maintenance.


Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain plumbing, boilers, furnaces, and heating systems

• Complete general carpentry and building repairs

• Carry out minor electrical and appliance maintenance

• Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections

• Complete work orders and maintenance records using the CMMS

• Provide respectful, professional service to community members


Qualifications:

• Journeyman certification in a related trade or equivalent experience

• Minimum three (3) years of residential maintenance experience

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence

• Ability to work on-call and respond to emergencies

• Experience working with a First Nation organization considered an asset

• Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check required
