Quality Process Engineer

  • Full-time

About the position

Origin Robotics develops and manufactures advanced autonomous systems for defence and security applications. We are looking for a Quality Process Engineer to ensure our products meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and manufacturability throughout their lifecycle.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, investigating failures, improving manufacturing processes, and driving product quality from design through production.

You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to identify quality risks, investigate product failures, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve product and process performance.

Your goal is not to inspect quality into products, but to build quality into products and processes.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead investigation of production defects and field failures, identifying root causes and driving effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Improve product quality, reliability, and manufacturing yield through data analysis, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by assessing quality risks, participating in design reviews, and ensuring robust manufacturing readiness.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve quality assurance processes, testing strategies, control plans, and quality performance metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Engineering and Manufacturing to prevent recurring issues and build quality into products and processes.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Product Quality, or a similar hands-on engineering role.
  • Proven experience investigating hardware failures, production defects and driving effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Understanding of electronics assemblies, electromechanical systems, testing methods, manufacturing processes, and quality management systems.
  • Analytical, proactive, and results-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Quality teams in a fast-paced scale-up environment.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to work on defence robotics systems that are deployed in real-world environments and matter to those who rely on them
  • Interesting technical challenges and work on complex engineering problems
  • Work on best-in-class products that compete internationally, alongside leading experts in the field
  • The chance to own your work from development through to field deployment
  • Opportunities to learn, grow and develop while working with modern technologies
  • Health insurance
