ABOUT THE ROLE


Renewable Energy in Japan is a growing and dynamic field. With the increasing focus on sustainability and the urgent need to address climate change, there has been a surge in demand for professionals with expertise in renewable energy project development and execution.


Our office in Tokyo is located in Shibuya and serves as a hub for our Offshore Wind & Renewable Energy business in the rapidly growing renewables market within the APAC region.


We are looking for a perm-focused Senior Recruitment Consultant to consistently develop existing & new client relationships and candidate networks, work in the project development and execution vertical to become the go-to individual and subject matter expert and make a meaningful impact on your career, your team and more widely on the transition to renewable energy.


The role reports to our Head of Recruitment, Josh Whitaker and sits within a small team of other Consultants. We also have teams in Taiwan, Singapore, Korea and Australia too.

WHAT YOU’LL DO


As a Senior Consultant at Taylor Hopkinson, you will build trusted long-term relationships with clients and candidates to connect high-calibre specialists to roles at global renewables companies.


Day-to-day responsibilities


  • Develop relationships with existing and new clients; specifically, new business development (BD) with international and local Japanese renewable energy clients
  • Develop and grow candidates networks and deliver on vacancies for our clients
  • Share market information with colleagues globally
  • Record activity appropriately on Bullhorn/CRM systems
  • Learn about the offshore wind / renewables sector and grow into a subject matter expert in the renewable energy field


Requirements

Must-have's


  • A minimum of two year's experience in an agency recruitment role (preferred) or in an account management / sales / BD role
  • Aptitude for building relationships with clients, sales and business development
  • A genuine interest in the renewables sector and a real ambition to become an expert in your field
  • An energetic and positive approach to work, with a passion to foster strong relationships and develop networks
  • A strong communicator who can understand and discuss technical aspects of roles with colleagues and candidates
  • A willingness to share your knowledge and build relationships internally and externally
  • Good level of fluency in English
  • Fluency in Japanese


Nice-to-have's


  • Previous experience in account management for two or more clients
  • Previous experience in bringing onboard new clients
  • Renewables or energy experience
