Overview of Role

This role exists to deliver best value and service for AF members developing and growing the renewable business turnover. Deliver high levels of service overseeing renewable technology projects from concept to handover of export energy services. To actively contribute to the wider pillar business objectives and growth targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop opportunities for new products and services for the renewables category, project managing and assisting delivery of these new initiatives, ensuring successful implementation
  •  Supplier Management for suppliers of renewable products and Wood fuels to include negotiation of relevant terms to ensure suppliers are working within any relevant regulations
  • Responsibility for supplier segmentation and scorecards continuously evaluating supplier performance and providing feedback to enable improvements
  • Team with the Renewable Project Specialist, advancing projects, attending member visits and generating reports as required
  • Understand technologies and legislation relating to Renewable infrastructure to ensure they remain knowledgeable and capable of delivering cost savings to members
  • Work closely with colleagues across the business to identify joint ventures and sharing of expertise
  •  Retain and grow business by reviewing, visiting and continuously building long-term member and supplier relationships increasing wallet share
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement of service levels.
  • Contribute to category plan and budget forecasting, reporting on performance through regular updates
  • Review, monitor and update forecast against plan as required, providing necessary supporting commentary
  • Ensure knowledge base of future technical and commercial aspects of relevant markets and any impact these may have on the business

Admin

  • Provide members with support for solar PV system issues and manage the health check enquiries with our suppliers
  • Proactively identify and contact members with onsite generation to onboard to PPA portfolio
  • Advise members on best export tariffs to suit their metering and generation type and size supplying them with relevant information
  • Using internal system data, proactively identify sites which would benefit from installing renewable generation/storage
  • Ensure suppliers have relevant information to carry out what we ask of them
  •  Ensure the business unit’s processes and procedures are implemented and all business activity is accurately recorded and reported as necessary
  • Ensure members are kept updated regarding product area changes and legislative changes
  • Seek member feedback to evaluate performance and enable improvement
  • Identify, introduce and implement new processes to maximise efficiency within the department
  • Recording and updating CRM opportunities for Renewable Projects, wood fuels
  • Requesting, collating and sending quotations for project enquiries to members
  • Review and submit supplier invoicing on member projects
  • Collate and manage supplier rebates and receivables for project suppliers
  • Facilitating the exchange of information between member and suppliers during project proposal stages
  • Keeping track of project key dates and deadlines and understanding contractor CDM responsibilities
  •  Requesting and reviewing supplier insurance and RAMS documentation for active projects
  • Managing information trails for multiple projects and suppliers
  • Preparing submission of data for DNO/Structural/Planning interactions
  • Collating handover documentation issued by suppliers on project completion
  • Ensuring suppliers provide witness test and MPAN details in a timely manner for PPA application
  • Onboarding new suppliers
  • Track orders and enquiries for the team
  • Take incoming enquiries for all renewables projects such as solar PV (Photovoltaic), wind turbines, air/ground source heat pumps, battery storage, voltage optimisation and biomass boilers.

Person Specification

Skills

  • Competent using IT systems including Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  •  Strong numeracy skills
  •  Excellent attention to detail
  •  Excellent communicator both verbally and written
  •  Competent in writing reports, articles and presenting self in front of an audience

Experience

  • Proven experience managing a workload with competing demands

  • Knowledge of electricity metering types and set up
  • Strong knowledge of renewable generation
  • Technical understanding of renewable installations
  • Experience of energy related contracts and procedures
  • Experience dealing with energy DNOs
  • Renewables industry related experience 
  • Setting and managing budgets

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
