Junior QA Engineer

As a Junior QA Engineer, you will be working as a member of a software delivery team, ensuring quality in both existing and new features, which are part of Harbor Lab’s Software-as-a-Service offering. You will be responsible for organizing the test activities of the team and working closely with fellow QAs in regression testing activities on each release.  Collaborating with other engineers, product managers and designers will be part of your day-to-day work. You will also be participating in the team’s Sprint ceremonies.  

Our engineering team plays a pivotal role in the success of our company, and contributing to delivering high quality work on time is a key factor in achieving our goals. 

• Become a member of a development team and, along with the rest of your team, ensure the quality of the software the team delivers. 
• Provide a test plan for the tasks of each sprint and execute tests that can be done only manually, as part of the feature and bug fix testing of the sprint. 
• Collaborate with the team’s software engineers to decide on the most optimal testing approach on each task the team works on. 
• Support the troubleshooting efforts of support engineers to assist in reproducing complex flows and/or verify the proposed fix. 
• Write and maintain a common regression test plan and execute it before every release, as a common task among all QA engineers of all development teams. 
• Assist your team to automate identified tests by leveraging our test infrastructure and your knowledge as a domain expert in Quality Assurance. 
• Collaborate with the Test Engineering team to provide input on the prioritization of test case automation initiatives and provide requirements for platform testing that can be automated. 
• Be a quality champion within your team and ensure that all work delivered is properly tested and that quality and test automation remain in the forefront of your team’s priorities. 

• Studies in computer science or a related discipline 
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role 
• Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken 
• An eye for detail and a passion for software quality 

Knowledge of at least one programming language, ideally Groovy or Javascript
