Employment Status: Seasonal

Employment Length: 8 weeks between June 24 and August 16, 2024, may or may not also include 8 weeks of program development between April 29 and June 21, 2024.

Mandatory Training: June 24-28, 2024, might also include June 17-19, 2024

Remuneration: $17.45/hr

Reports to: EPIC and Onside Regional Coordinator or Supervisor


These camps are in partnership with Gracepoint Community Church, Rail City Campus and White Rock Baptist.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work in a Christian environment and lead faith-based discussions
  • Must be committed to EPIC and Onside’s mission, vision and values
  • Must have experience working with EPIC and Onside, or approved equivalent
  • Must exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills (with parents, staff, campers)
  • Must exhibit strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Must have the ability to lead, model, disciple, and sustain a team of staff and volunteers 
  • Must have completed grade 12 or beyond as of July 1, 2024
  • Must participate in staff training retreat (dates noted above)
  • Experience, knowledge of, and interest in sports is a benefit
  • Familiarity with the program and the location are a benefit

Responsibilities

  • To build on EPIC and Onside’s positive reputation by demonstrating excellence in all activities 
  • Active, positive participation in the community of camp and in staff activities
  • In conjunction with the Camp Director:
  •  the employee will implement programs and ensure that camp activities are running and functioning in an effective, focused manner
  • The employee will supervise all participants (staff, campers, volunteers) during all on and off-site activities, ensuring their health and safety
  • Take on the administrative aspects of camp programming 
  • Lead daily devotions with staff members
  • The employee may be responsible for coaching a group of campers, aiding in their sport and character development
  • Protect all confidential information of the players, campers, staff and parents
  • Along with the employer’s custodian, ensure all facilities are clean and tidy, including the gym, washrooms, kitchen, youth room, meeting rooms, auditorium, and etc.), and other such duties
