ADE Power Ltd is a leading provider of high-quality power solutions, specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke steel enclosures and associated systems. We are seeking an Estimator to join our proposals team, to support the bid process by conducting preliminary reviews of inquiries, estimating materials and labour using Excel, creating bills of materials for projects, and preparing written project proposals. As an Estimator, you will collaborate with various teams to ensure successful submissions and manage multiple proposals concurrently.

Responsibilities
- Review client documentation and coordinate with the engineering and proposals teams to generate a compliant quotation.
- Provide solutions for client requirements based on previous projects or, where necessary, develop new solutions with team support.
- Use in-house Excel calculators to generate Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Analyse completed jobs to review actual materials and labour used.
- Manage clarifications and address any necessary revisions in the proposal process.
- Review commercial requirements and develop a robust commercial strategy.
- Create and refine Bills of Materials using Excel and prepare project proposals using Word.
- Collaborate with other business units to obtain necessary input and validation.
- Work closely with the Sales team to ensure cohesive and aligned proposal submissions.
- Provide timely feedback and escalate any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records for assigned proposals.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role within related industries and project scopes (e.g. manufacturing, enclosure manufacture, steel fabrication).
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams to create accurate and high-quality quotes.
- Familiarity with relevant technical concepts. Ability to read and understand technical drawings, both mechanical and electrical. AutoCAD experience would be beneficial.
- Strong presentation and written communication skills.
- HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma level is advantageous but not essential
Working Hours
The working hours for this position are 37.5 hours per week, from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday and 8am to 1:30pm on Friday. The business is closed for Bank Holidays, and we also enjoy a shutdown every Christmas until after the New Year.
