The Company

JenaValve is a privately owned medical device company focused on the design and manufacture of Pericardial Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Systems, intended to treat patients with Symptomatic, Severe Aortic Regurgitation and Stenosis.


Our production site in Leeds, manufactures the proprietary porcine pericardial heart valve used in the JenaValve Pericardial TAVR System.


The Role

To assist with our plans for growth we are seeking skilled and detail-orientated sewing technicians to join our team. As a sewing technician you will work in a clean room, applying skill, dexterity and knowledge in the sewing and assembly of Transcatheter Heart Valves.

Responsibilities

  • Use tools – needles, scissors, forceps, specialised tooling, microscope – to perform assigned steps in the sewing assembly of valves.
  • Perform checks of own work and others against specifications and defined failure modes.
  • Complete all operations in accordance with work instructions, good manufacturing practices, good documenting practices in compliance with the JenaValve quality system, including recording traceable information in DHRs.
  • Support all manufacturing-related aspects of a project within a team as required.
  • Support activities corresponding to other work procedures, as requested, to provide support to any operations processes.
  • Be aware of Health and Safety information for the applicable processes utilised in the organisation.
  • Adhere to all EHS rules and requirements and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others.


Skills & Abilities Required

  • Must take initiative and be able to complete hands-on work under guidance.
  • Ability to use small hand tools, hand eye coordination, and high manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and with minimum supervision by following detailed manufacturing instructions.
  • Must handle single tasks with high attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and speak English, and good communication skills required.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must have good documentation skills.
  • Must be able to complete the applicable training requirements.
  • Must understand good manufacturing practices (GMP) and be able to work in a controlled environment.


Required Education & Experience

  • GCSE or equivalent.
  • Experience of sewing, art and crafts or other high manual dexterity tasks essential.
  • Some experience of manufacturing, GMP, clean room, medical device desirable.
