AIM supports the growth in the end-point assessment (EPA) of apprenticeship standards, delivery of high-quality EPA, and working in partnership with major employers across sectors. We are currently focusing our work on the creative and cultural industries. We are seeking to recruit talented and motivated assessors across a range of standards in the creative sector, including Curator.
Curator
A curator works in museums, galleries or organisations such as local authorities, universities, historic environments and properties or trusts, with art, natural history or cultural collections which are accessible to the public. The type of work and size of organisation vary from working with collections, built heritage, or the natural and historic environments in large organisations with specialist staff to small venues with 1 or 2 staff who have multiple responsibilities. A Curator will research, understand, develop and interpret collections, themes or subjects e.g. historic buildings, natural and historic environments, to make these accessible to wide ranging and diverse public or private audience. They communicate information to the public or a private audience in a wide variety of ways including displays, exhibitions, public events, digital media methods and publications to bring to life collections both modern and/or ancient across a variety of subjects on a scale from paintings and sculpture to large scale vehicles and taxidermy. Curators may be subject specialists and use their knowledge to oversee the care and preservation of collections.
