Stakeholder Engagement & Requirement Gathering
○ Partner with cross-functional business stakeholders (operations, finance,
sales, customer support, executives) to understand operational pain
points, business goals, and strategic workflows.
○ Partner with cross-functional business stakeholders (operations, finance,
sales, customer support, executives) to understand operational pain
points, business goals, and strategic workflows.
○ Map "as-is" operational processes and design optimized "to-be" workflows
using standardized notation (BPMN, UML activity diagrams).
○ Challenge assumptions constructively, balance conflicting business
priorities, and guide stakeholders toward scalable digital solutions rather
than bespoke operational workarounds.
Technical Specification & Engineering Translation
○ Translate high-level business goals into granular, developer-ready
artifacts: Epics, User Stories and testable acceptance criteria.
○ Define system interaction details, including data mapping, field-level
validations, error handling scenarios, and edge cases.
○ Collaborate with software architects and technical leads to map functional
requirements against REST APIs, microservice boundaries, third-party
integrations, and database schemas.
○ Define data contracts and field-level mappings, detailing input validations,
edge cases, and expected system behaviour across integrated systems
and APIs.
Agile Backlog & Delivery Enablement
○ Partner with Product Managers and Engineering Leads to prioritize, refine,
and maintain a healthy, sequenced sprint backlog.
○ Enforce the Definition of Ready (DoR) to ensure no work enters an active
sprint with unresolved scope, missing assets, or ambiguous logic.
○ Act as the daily on-call domain expert for software engineers during active
sprints, rapidly answering functional edge-case questions and unblocking
development.
Quality Assurance & User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
○ Collaborate with engineers to ensure test plans and automated test suites
adequately cover business-critical paths and non-obvious failure modes.
○ Design, coordinate, and facilitate UAT with business stakeholders, tracking
feedback, triaging defects, and validating that delivered features fulfil the
original business intent.
○ Document system capabilities, release notes, and operational handoff
guides for customer-facing or internal operations teams.
