Mogo Auto Limited recently signed a commitment letter with Development Finance Corporation (DFC), for a $10 million loan to finance electric vehicles in Kenya.

What you will do:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement the device financing strategy, aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Identify and analyze market trends and opportunities in the device financing space.
  • Set performance targets and KPIs for the device financing program.


Program Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end device financing process, from product development to customer onboarding and repayment.
  • Manage relationships with financing partners, including banks, lenders, and technology providers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.


OEM and Strategic Partnerships Management

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage partnership opportunities with OEMs to support business growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with OEM partners on product launches, promotional campaigns.
  • Secure favorable commercial terms, including pricing structures, marketing support, and exclusive product offerings.
  • Work closely with OEMs to forecast device demand and ensure adequate inventory availability.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of OEM partnerships and implement strategies to maximize commercial value and customer acquisition.


Team Leadership

  • Lead and motivate a team of device financing professionals, providing guidance and support.
  • Build a high-performing team with the necessary skills and expertise.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.


Financial Performance

  • Monitor the financial performance of the device financing program.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance profitability.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management.


 Product Development and Innovation

  • Identify opportunities for product innovation and enhancements.
  • Partner with product teams to develop and launch new device financing products and features.
  • Conduct market research and analyze customer feedback to inform product development decisions


Risk Management and Compliance

  • Identify and assess risk associated with device financing programs.
  • Develop and Implement risk mitigation strategies 
  • Monitor key risk metrics and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. 



What you will need:

  • University degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales leadership roles within fintech, consumer finance, telecom, device financing, retail, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and scaling sales teams in fast-growth or emerging-market environments.
  • Strong background in building and managing dealer, distributor, or retail partner networks.
  • Solid commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial data and translate it into actionable sales strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, including experience managing mid-level managers and large field-based sales teams.
  •  Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  •  Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.


Nice to Have

  • Experience in device financing, BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later), mobile money, or telecom-related sales.
  • Familiarity with the Kenyan smartphone and retail ecosystem.
  • Prior experience with CRM platforms, sales automation tools, and data-driven sales management.
