We are seeking an inspirational, passionate and forward-thinking Director of Clinical Services to join our team and drive our vision for a world where everyone has fair access to specialist palliative and end of life care.


This role is key to our commitment of listening to our patients, their loved ones, and our staff and working with our health and social care partners to make things better for those living with a terminal illness.


The post-holder will be a member of the hospice's Executive Leadership team (ECT) and the successful candidate will possess the ability to work both operationally as leader and manager of our Clinical Services function, as well as operate strategically and cross functionally as an organisational Director.

Qualifications


Essential

  • Qualified and registered clinical professional — NMC, HCPC, etc.
  • Evidence of continuing personal and professional development (CPD)


Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification in relevant subject
  • Leadership/management qualification


Knowledge and Experience


Essential

  • Extensive senior clinical management experience relevant to the post.  Experience of working as a senior healthcare professional in a leadership or management role in a health care environment at Director, Deputy Director or equivalent level.
  • Evidence of leadership of service change and enabling culture change in teams.
  • Understanding of organisational regulation, including Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Understanding of professional regulation, including NMC and HCPC.
  • Demonstrable and significant experience of workforce planning, understanding of establishment, acuity and dependency tools.


Desirable

  • Evidence of collaborative working with partner organisations resulting in successful innovation and change.
  • Demonstrate effective system working and excellent collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of or participation in research.
  • Experience and/or understanding of the charity sector including: o The role and relationship with the Board of Trustees. o Charity funding and the importance of income generation. o The role and importance of our volunteers.
