  • Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with UK GAAP.
  • Manage, review and improve financial policies, systems, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Monitoring of cash flow, working capital and credit control.
  • Oversee monthly payroll processing.
  • Oversee revenue recognition processes, supported by meticulous documentation, to maximise financial performance.
  • Assist with the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Ensure timely submission of VAT returns, corporation tax filings, and other regulatory reporting.
  • Provide financial analysis and modelling to support key business initiatives and investments.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and financial control.
  • Support the CFO with ad-hoc financial projects, reports, data analysis and strategic decision-making.
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence while mentoring and developing the finance team.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role in a small or medium-sized business or practice.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong knowledge of UK accounting standards (UK GAAP).
  • Excellent knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and management skills.
  •  Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate in a dynamic environment.
