Our mission is to enable upward social mobility for people in diverse communities around the world by providing entrepreneurs who are excluded from traditional banking systems access to credit. By combining asset financing, fintech, AI-based underwriting, and proprietary car portals, MOGO Kenya enables these local entrepreneurs (motorcycle taxi riders, Uber/Bolt drivers, and small business owners) to find and purchase their own vehicles.
We are looking for a Head of New Product Development to create and develop new products (business lines). Some of the projects include: find a business model that works and roll out smartphone financing in our East Africa markets; develop battery swapping network for electric motorcycles that we finance; develop new products for our SME customers.
What you will do:
- Run our internal product ideas incubator
- Develop MVPs -> test fast -> fail -> repeat. Until you find what works! Then – scale and either go and run it yourself or transfer to other business units
- Full ownership of Profit and Loss statement, understand and track unit economics
- Set-up team(s)
- Identify target segments, value proposition, and pricing
- Develop go-to-market strategy
- Establish and manage relationships with key business partners
- Monitor market and competitors, and provide market insights to company leadership
- Initiate and implement marketing campaigns incl., digital marketing
- Lead the development of new sales channels
- Regularly track and analyze key metrics (including the performance of sales teams, conversion rates, and turnaround times), as well, identify and implement improvements
- Identify technology improvements (e.g., app for customers or sales reps.), prepare requirements, and lead the development from the business side
