Job Summary

This is a seasonal role that provides superior food and beverage service and towel service to members and their guests, at the pool and the beach, while always keeping locations clean and tidy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

OPENING

  • Open the pool side umbrellas if weather permits.
  • Wipe chairs and tables and line up as per standard.
  • Take towel bin to Baby Beach.
  • Sweep the pool area.
  • Set up the beach umbrellas and chairs weather permitting.
  • Ensure the Beach Hut is fully stocked, clean and tidy.
  • Set out menu cards on the station.

DURING THE DAY

  • Ensure pool area is clean and used towels are taken to laundry as needed.
  • Check the trash regularly and empty as necessary.
  • Greet members when they arrive and ask whether or not they need a towel or a beverage.
  • If stationed at the beach, set up umbrellas & chairs when needed and visit guests every 20 minutes to see if they would like to order lunch or drinks.
  • Check the fridge and ensure it is stocked with ice creams, sodas, and water.
  • Enforce general pool rules for the safety of everyone involved.
  • Provide efficient food and beverage service to members and guests.
  • Clean and monitor bathrooms every 30 minutes for cleanliness.
  • Put dirty pool and chair towels in the laundry bags provided. Ensure the towel bin does not overflow and they are kept out of sight of members and guests.

CLOSING

  • Close down umbrellas and tidy pool area.
  • Pack away towel bin at Baby Beach.
  • Pack away chairs, tables, & umbrellas on the beach and at the pool according to standard, ensuring none are left below the high tide line.
  • Sweep the pool area.
  • Replenish the towel stock to ensure that towels are available for the next day.
  • Take the F&B chits for the day upstairs to the Beach Pavilion.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Set up pool safety fencing prior to a function when needed. 
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in an educational program.
  • Must be 18 years or older due to requirement to serve alcohol
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Physically fit and able to perform physical labor in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to move and lift heavy furniture and equipment.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of pool equipment and safety measures.
  • Consistent professional appearance and pleasant demeanor.
  • Willingness to work on weekends, holidays, and after hours.

Required Competencies, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to swim is required
  • Ability to work in the sun and in humid conditions
  • Prior food and beverage experience is an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skill and able to multitask
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs while remaining courteous at all times
  • Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels
