This is an exciting opportunity to join the Facilities team at Britain’s longest established and world-famous conservatoire for filmmakers. The school, now in its 70th anniversary year, is based in Covent Garden in the heart of London. LFS alumni include famous veterans (Mike Leigh, Michael Mann, Tak Fujimoto, Ann Hui) and famous younger filmmakers including Carla Simon, Oliver Hermanus, Babak Jalali, and the creator of End of the F**king World, Jonathan Entwistle.

Job Title:     Reception and Administrative Support Officer    

Contract:  Permanent, full time (35 hours per week)

Salary/Benefits: £26,500 - £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus a comprehensive employee benefits package

Location:  Covent Garden, London WC2B 5PQ


Job Summary

This is a great opportunity for you to be the first point of contact for visitors to our prestigious Film School. You will deal with all general enquiries, whether face-to-face in the busy reception, via phone or email and will operate the School’s multiline switchboard. You will also provide administrative support to the Facilities Management, Human Resources and Student Registry departments, act as a secondary building key-holder to the Facilities Manager and also a Fire Marshall, in the event of a building evacuation being necessary.


As a confident communicator, you will be comfortable working with academic and professional services staff, students and external stakeholders.  


The successful candidate for this interesting and varied role will be educated to A level standard or equivalent, have excellent administrative and communication skills, together with experience working on reception in a customer facing post.  The ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment, plus experience using Microsoft 365 and excellent MS Office skills are essential.  Experience of working in a similar role within the arts and/or higher education will be an advantage.
