Senior Lecturer - Cinematography

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cinematography team at Britain’s longest established and world-famous conservatoire for filmmakers. The school, now in its 70th anniversary year, is based in Covent Garden in the heart of London. LFS alumni include famous veterans (Mike Leigh, Michael Mann, Tak Fujimoto, Ann Hui) and famous younger filmmakers including Carla Simon, Oliver Hermanus, Babak Jalali, and the creator of End of the F**king World, Jonathan Entwistle.  

LFS is one of only two film schools in the UK to have been awarded ‘world leading’ specialist provider institution status and funding from the Office for Students. 

Job Title:  Senior Lecturer - Cinematography 

Contract:  Permanent, full time (35 hours per week)

Salary/Benefits: £40,000-£45,000) per annum (dependent on experience), plus a comprehensive employee benefits package

Location: Covent Garden, London WC2B 5PQ

We are looking for someone who is passionate about filmmaking, cinematography and education. You will be confident delivering high-quality teaching, supporting students to achieve their potential, and building positive relationships with colleagues and industry professionals.

Whether you are an experienced academic or an accomplished industry practitioner, you will be keen to share your expertise, contribute to curriculum development and help prepare the next generation of filmmakers.

What You'll Do:

Teaching & Learning

• Deliver teaching in filmmaking, specialising in Cinematography.
• Support student learning, development and wellbeing.

Assessment

• Assess practical filmmaking work and academic assignments.
• Provide constructive feedback to support student progress.

Curriculum Development

• Contribute to curriculum review and enhancement.
• Bring current industry practice and emerging technologies into the classroom.

Team Contribution

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the programme.
• Help maintain an inspiring, inclusive and professional learning environment.
