Credit Hire Litigation Paralegal

The Paralegal will support the Credit Hire Litigation Team in progressing pre-litigated and litigated credit hire recovery matters. The successful candidate will assist will case preparation, document management, client and third-party liaison and general file handling duties. The role will also include supporting our personal injury teams from time to time, providing assistance to our fast-track and serious injury claims handlers. 

• Provide essential support to our fee earners in the Credit Hire Team, to ensure the smooth and efficient progress of claims at the firm.
• Provide support to our personal injury teams, both fast-track and serious injury, as and when required.
• Liaising with clients, insurers, third-party solicitors, courts and CHO’s.
• Carry out general administrative duties including file opening, file closing, scanning, printing, document uploading, diary management and electronic filing.
• Arrange for documents to be e-signed.
• Respond to telephone and email enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation of court documents.
• Draft and issue standard procedural documents where appropriate.
• Review incoming evidence and documentation.
• Monitor court deadlines and ensure compliance.
• Negotiate settlements where delegated and appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of this role.

• A legal education or previous experience in credit hire is not strictly necessary, however a passion for the law is essential.
• Exceptional telephone manner and writing skills.  
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work as a team and encourage a strong sense of team ethos.
