Acoustics Engineer - Hybrid Working

Description

ADE Power has over 25 years of experience at the forefront of the power equipment packaging industry - designing and manufacturing precision engineered, purpose-built acoustic and modular enclosures, housings, and modules, for the packaging of industrial power generation, switchgear, energy storage, data centres, fuel tanks, and related equipment. We are seeking a talented and motivated Acoustics Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop acoustic systems and solutions for various applications.
  • Conduct acoustic measurements and analysis using advanced tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate acoustic designs into products.
  • Perform simulations and modelling to predict acoustic performance.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for acoustic-related issues. 
  • Read specifications to ensure compliance. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Applicant must have previous experience in acoustic design and analysis.
  • Familiarity with steel fabrication processes  
  • Knowledge of diesel generators (desirable, but not essential)
  • Proficiency in use of acoustic measurement tools. 
  • Ability to produce acoustic report. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • The ability to review generator set airflow requirements and sound pressure level data, along with the customers specification to design a bespoke, attenuated housing solution, is desired but is not a requirement, as in house training will be provided.

Working Hours

The working hours for this position are 37.5 hours per week - 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday and 8am to 1:30pm on Friday.


The business is closed for Bank Holidays, and we also enjoy a shutdown every Christmas until after the New Year.


Note: This is a Hybrid role, working a minimum of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home (following the successful completion of probationary period).
