Barrhead Travel are have an exciting position for a Social Media Co-ordinator to join the Marketing team


The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, creation, delivery and optimisation of social media activity across Barrhead Travel's consumer and partner marketing channels.

The role plays a key part in driving brand awareness, customer engagement, enquiries and revenue by delivering high-quality social content and campaigns across organic and paid platforms.

Working closely with marketing, ecommerce, retail and partner marketing teams, the Social Media Coordinator ensures social activity supports commercial objectives, promotional campaigns and supplier commitments while maintaining brand standards and best practice.

The role also supports retail stores with local social media activity, helping to strengthen community engagement and improve the effectiveness of Barrhead Travel's local marketing strategy.

What You’ll Do:


Social Media Delivery

· Create, schedule and publish content across key social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and emerging channels.

· Support the delivery of social media activity for brand, tactical, retail and partner-funded campaigns.

· Manage the daily social media content calendar to ensure consistent and timely communication.

· Assist with the development of engaging social content including copy, imagery and video assets.

· Ensure content aligns with brand guidelines, commercial priorities and relevant compliance requirements.

Campaign Support

· Work closely with marketing teams to promote key campaigns, seasonal activity, daily offers and business initiatives.

· Support the amplification of marketing campaigns through paid social media activity, including boosting and monitoring promoted content.

· Coordinate social activity linked to supplier and partner marketing agreements.

· Help maximise the return from company-funded and partner-sponsored marketing activity.

Community Management

· Monitor and respond to customer comments, messages and enquiries in a timely and professional manner.

· Escalate customer service issues to the relevant teams where appropriate.

· Help maintain positive engagement and protect brand reputation across social channels.

· Monitor social conversations and identify opportunities for proactive engagement.

Paid Social Support

· Support the setup, monitoring and optimisation of paid social campaigns.

· Assist with audience targeting, budget allocation and campaign reporting.

· Work with internal stakeholders and agency or platform partners where required.

· Monitor campaign performance and recommend improvements.

Retail Store Support

· Provide guidance and support to retail stores on local social media activity.

· Support and train store teams to improve confidence, consistency and effectiveness on social media.

· Review and share examples of successful local social activity.

· Support initiatives that increase local visibility, enquiries and community engagement.

Reporting & Insight

· Produce regular performance reports covering key social media metrics.

· Track reach, engagement, traffic, enquiries and campaign performance.

· Identify emerging trends, opportunities and competitor activity.

· Use performance data to recommend improvements to content, channels and campaign delivery.

Content Creation

· Create engaging social media copy tailored to specific audiences, campaigns and channels.

· Coordinate visual asset creation with the design team.

· Capture and edit basic photo and video content where required.

· Contribute ideas for social-first content themes, campaign hooks and tactical executions.


Who We're Looking For:


Knowledge, Skills & Experience


Essential

· A minimum of 3 years experience managing social media channels within a commercial environment working with significant budgets.

· Strong understanding of major social media platforms and best practice.

· Experience using Meta Business Manager and TikTok Ads Manager.

· Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.

· Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

· Experience using social media management and reporting tools.

· Good understanding of paid social media advertising and boosted content.

· Comfortable analysing performance data and producing clear reports.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency.


Desirable

· Experience within travel, leisure, retail or a multi-site business.

· Knowledge of Google Analytics and wider digital marketing metrics.

· Experience supporting local or multi-location social media activity.
