About the Role

The GOOD Agency are looking for a Business Director to join our Client Services team. To manage a portfolio of Clients/New Business Pitches and associated Agency team (Relationship, Work & Budgets), ensuring that we consistently exceed Client expectations.


The right candidate will ensure the smooth function and processes to ensure that the Agency is delivering the best possible work for Clients and to develop strong relationships with Clients at a senior level.


Candidates will ideally have a passion for charities, purpose and doing good.


Key Responsibilities

Client Services:

  • Senior Client Stakeholder management – developing and nurturing important relationships and providing key project oversight.
  • Driving creative and service excellence and growing Client satisfaction
  • Providing financial oversight and tracking across a wide range of Clients – ensuring accurate reporting of profit and loss to the Client Services Director
  • Proactively reaching out to Clients to share best in class Agency thinking to help unlock new opportunities and to grow accounts.
  • Ensuring the smooth daily function of the Client Services department by helping to oversee key internal processes.
  • Will oversee cost estimates to ensure we are charging correctly for services.


Business Development:

(New and existing clients)

  • Proactively drives up sell and cross sell opportunities for existing Clients and participates in new business initiatives and pitches to help GOOD win new Clients.
  • Contributor to the Agency’s marketing and new business charge
  • Responsible for preparing key proposals and pitches as well as cost estimates. Also helps write key cases of existing work delivered, demonstrating the agency’s expertise, innovation and creativity.
  • Leads teams, shaping strategic direction, motivating and galvanising internal and external contributors to lead best in class pitches to the Client.


Financial Management:

  • Responsible for ensuring we meet monthly and quarterly financial targets, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Monitoring and managing teams’ income to mitigate for shortfalls, converting unallocated budgets into confirmed projects by constantly driving ahead.
  • Ensures teams are working efficiently and effectively on projects.


Operations / Departmental Management:

  • Helps to ensure the right resource is utilised on new briefs.
  • Identify opportunities to create award-winning projects and helps GOOD enter awards to win.
  • Supports the MD/CSD with operational responsibility for the department as required and runs the department in MD/CSD ’s absence if needed.
  • Acts as an ambassador for GOOD in Client Services and regularly contributes thought leadership. Is also present on jury slots, events and for speaking slots etc as needed.


Team Management:

  • Coach and mentor the team; providing inspiration, motivation, direction, and expertise to gain the best performance possible.
  • Manage upwards, sideways, and down – keeping all parties in the loop and driving action where necessary.
  • Conduct PDP/ appraisals with team members, setting their objectives.
  • Grows and nurtures the team to be their very best.
  • Training and nurturing talent, managing holidays to ensure minimum disruption to work and being the first point of contact for any issues or concerns within the team.
  • Identifies a talent pool through networking and helps to hire new talent as needed
