As the R&D Funding Programme Manager, you will be central to the management of claims coordination and supporting documentation provision. This role will offer the opportunity to showcase financial and project management skills and develop scalable and strategic workflows to realise maximum potential across the funding portfolio within The Medicine Accelerator.
This will in turn support our team vision to accelerate the delivery of medicines to patients in a dynamic and cross-collaborative environment, with application of best-in-class science and our engineering-led, sustainable approach to process development.

Principal Duties & Objectives:
The R&D Funding Programme Manager is responsible for coordination, verification and audit readiness assessment and submissions of claims related to grant funding. They will also support the preparation of claims for tax incentives, including R&D Tax Credits. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and will ensure compliance with grant agreements and regulations.
They will project manage the entire grant claim lifecycle, from initial preparation to payment and assessment of supporting documentation and progress reports. They will participate in continued professional development to keep abreast of changes in funding and tax incentives landscape.
- Claim Preparation- lead the coordination of grant claims, ensuring all necessary documentation is collated and packaged for submission to the relevant funding agency.
- Claim Verification & Compliance- verify the accuracy of the grant claim in line with the grant terms and conditions.
- Schedule grant governance steering committees and responsible for the administration of the meeting actions and grant deliverable timeline with the Finance Director and Senior Leadership Team.
- Work with the innovation and technical functions in the company to curate supporting scientific documentation and progress reports for both grant and tax incentive claims.
- Develop relevant dashboards and workflows to track the grant portfolio and grant claim progress and maintain accurate records of grant claims and documentation.
- Support the analysis of timesheet and project hours to underpin grant and tax incentive claim preparation.
- Manage grant budgets and ensure that expenditures are in accordance with the approved budget.
- Support audit and inspection readiness and documentation requests.
Minimum Requirements:
- A relevant degree in business, science/ engineering or a related field.
- 2-3 years’ experience in programme or project management with budget responsibility in either a similar industry and/or academic or research centre sector.
- Technically proficient in relevant software programs and databases.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including working cross-functionally between finance and technical departments.
- Highly experienced in report preparation and dissemination to senior management and external parties.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Desirable Skills:
- Continued professional training in any of the following: R&D technology management, Project Management, Finance for Non-Financial Managers, Auditor and Compliance Management.
- Grant claim preparation with national funding agencies.
- Preparation of financial and scientific reports for R&D Tax Credits.

Salary
The salary is negotiable and dependent on the experience of the successful candidate.
