  • In-house
  • Compliance

About Paybis

Paybis is a global fintech company operating in crypto and payments — helping users and businesses buy, sell, and move crypto across 180+ countries. We are regulated, profitable, and compliance is central to how we operate every day.

About the Role

We are hiring a Compliance Officer to join our global compliance team. This is a fully autonomous, hands-on role — you will be expected to independently handle AML/CFT cases, apply blockchain monitoring tools, and contribute to process improvements as you grow in the role.

This is not a support or coordination position. From day one, you own your case queue and make compliance decisions independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently handle AML, sanctions, and compliance cases within assigned scope
  • Conduct CDD/EDD reviews, corporate onboardings, and risk assessments
  • Perform sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and SAR escalations
  • Use blockchain analytics tools (e.g. Chainalysis, Elliptic) and KYC/KYB platforms (e.g. Sumsub) daily
  • Identify and escalate suspicious activity and red flags in line with internal procedures
  • Review and maintain compliance policies and internal documentation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Fraud, Legal, Operations, and Customer Support
  • Propose improvements to speed, automation, and compliance processes from month six onward
  • Reduce backlog, improve delivery speed, and remove operational bottlenecks

What We Expect

Must-have

  • 3+ years in AML, compliance, or risk management within a regulated EU entity — crypto, fintech, or blockchain
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CFT, sanctions, and EU regulatory frameworks (MiCA, AMLD, Travel Rule, PSD2)
  • Hands-on daily experience with blockchain monitoring and KYC/KYB verification tools
  • Strong analytical skills and direct experience conducting risk assessments
  • Fluency in English — written and verbal

Nice-to-have

  • Experience across multiple jurisdictions (US, CA, UK, AUS)
  • CAMS, ICA or equivalent certification
  • Experience in a scale-up or high-growth environment

How You Work

This role will fit you if:

  • You take full ownership of your work without needing to be chased
  • You are comfortable making decisions in ambiguous situations
  • You treat compliance as a business enabler, not a blocker
  • You adapt fast and prefer low-bureaucracy environments

  • HR interview
