About the Role

As Business Growth Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping and executing our growth strategy across a diverse product range. Working cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders, your goal will be to drive new income opportunities, increase our customer base, and support the long-term success of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Drive strategic business growth by delivering on performance targets, developing effective growth plans, and managing the business development pipeline. Leverage market data and sector knowledge to inform plans, build strong customer relationships, support client onboarding, and represent the organisation externally. Collaborate across teams and contribute positively to the Business Growth Team.

  • A proven track record in business development, sales, or growth-focused roles with an understanding of the education sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence in analysing data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • A collaborative team player who can work effectively across departments.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job title:       Business Growth Manager

Reporting to: Head of Business Growth & Marketing

JOB PURPOSE

 

To work collaboratively across the business, and drive business growth across the whole product range, increase our customer base and identify new opportunities for income generation.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1.   To work to agreed performance targets and a strategic plan.


2.   To support growth strategies and processes, evaluating and adapting as required.

3.   Collaborate with the Marketing Team to execute campaigns that increase brand and product awareness.


4.   Accurately track and report on the end-to-end opportunities pipeline from lead generation to approval/centre recognition.

>        

5.   Effectively use and analyse data to understand market trends, competitors, opportunities and business priorities for growth.


6.   Ensure sector and product knowledge is current and is used to inform growth plans. Working collaboratively with specialist teams.


7.   Drive new business activity by growing and nurturing stakeholder, prospect and customer relationships.

8.   Support the development and implementation of a prospecting plan.

>        

9.   Work collaboratively with the Relationship Managers to effectively onboard and transition new business to an allocated Relationship Manager.

>        

10. Proactively engage with external events to represent the group and generate interest in working with Skills and Education Group, e.g. conference, sector forums, chamber of commerce.


11. Provide efficient and effective customer service and be the primary point of contact for internal and external customers in the context of new business.

12. To share possible opportunities for additional funding into the Foundation with the Membership & Foundation Manager.


13. To write, own and monitor a business development plan in line with strategic priorities. Report on the plan and adapt as required.

 

14. Be an active member of the Business Growth team, leading by example with a can-do’, approach.


15. To work collaboratively with other teams to ensure products and services are effectively promoted and that key intelligence is fed into the Product team to inform future developments.

16. Identify opportunities for celebrating success and ensure these are shared with the Head of Business Growth & Marketing.


17. To proactively drive operational improvements as appropriate.


18. To maintain and strengthen the Group’s reputation and image.



The above-mentioned duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the post holder may be required to carry out such other appropriate duties as may be determined by the Head of Business Growth & Marketing.

 

The post holder will be expected to adopt a flexible approach to support the efficient and effective running of the Company.

 

OTHER DUTIES

 

1    To ensure awareness of, and compliance with, all health and safety requirements taking reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself and other persons in accordance with the provision of health and safety legislation.

 

2    To exercise proper care in operating, handling, and safeguarding any equipment and appliances provided and issued by Skills and Education Group for individual or collective use in the performance of duties.

 

3    To keep up to date, so far as is necessary for the efficient executive of the role, with new legislation, procedures, and methods.

 

4    To participate in the Company’s appraisal process and to undertake appropriate training/development to ensure up-to-date knowledge and practices are applied and maintained for the efficient and effective performance of the post and to support the Company’s strategic objectives.

 

5    To uphold and promote the Company’s Equal Opportunities and Diversity policies and practices.

 

6    To present an appropriate professional image on official Company business.
