Annual Salary

Band D2 £35,889.76 + £4000 Car Allowance

This is a pivotal role within the retail function at St Giles Hospice, responsible for driving performance and consistency across a portfolio of shops. You will ensure each location is commercially strong, operationally sound, and delivering a high quality experience for both customers and supporters.

 

You will lead on income growth through effective stock generation, strong merchandising, and clear performance management, while maintaining high standards of compliance and health and safety. Through your leadership, you will build capable, confident teams who are focused on delivering results and representing the hospice with pride.

 

With a proactive and forward thinking mindset, you will identify opportunities to strengthen the retail offer, support new ideas, and contribute to the continued growth of the operation. Your work will play a direct role in increasing the income that enables St Giles Hospice to support more people across the community.

Knowledge and Experience

Qualifications

Desirable

·       Educated to degree or equivalent

·       NVQ Level 2 in Retail or Customer Service or evidence of similar training

 

Knowledge and experience

Essential

·       At least 1 years’ experience relevant to the role

·       Multi-site retail management experience

·       A proven ability to work within a team

·       Can demonstrate excellent retail management skills

·       Has a good understanding of legal and H&S

·       Proven track record of delivering commercial results

·       Strong leadership and communication skills

·       Excellent written and verbal communication

·       Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi task and prioritise

·       Data analysis and problem solving

·       Operational and compliance knowledge

·       Values driven, supportive and resilient

·       High personal integrity

·       Collaborative and solution focused

·       A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Desirable

·       Significant knowledge and experience of recruiting and managing staff and or volunteers

·       Have a high level of numeracy skills, to analyse performance

·       Understanding of profit and loss

·       Proven experience managing performance and HR policy within a retail environment.

·       An understanding of the Charity retail environment

·       Ability to conduct audits and compile management reports

·       Leadership or coaching qualification

·       Visual merchandising knowledge

·       Digital literacy and EPOS familiarity
