We are looking for a driven and knowledgeable Acoustics Researcher to join our RnD team and help us succeed in the creation of truly personalized sound experience and the transfer of said sound experience to different audio playback platforms.  You will document project progression and directly work on project milestones, and evaluate the quality of project-related deliverables from 3rd party project partners. Long term responsibilities will include internal product feature development associated with room acoustics profiling, simulation and playback device profiling methodology development. You will be working as part of a team of 5 people, each specialized in a unique field, opening up a large variety of personal development avenues and expanding your personal network in the professional audio solution industry.

  • Design, implement and drive internal Sonarworks research projects
  • Manage and QA 3rd party deliverables associated with Sonarworks research projects
  • Take part in pro and consumer sound calibration and individualization product feature development
  • Develop technologies for sound experience transferability across a large scale of playback devices and environments


  • Strong capability in written and spoken Latvian and English
  • Good time management and communication skills
  • Strong capability to pay attention to details and critical thinking/decision making
  • Interest and experience in sound physics and acoustics
  • A degree in Physics, Mathematics or relevant field
  • Experience in Python and/or MatLAB programming

Extra points for:

  • Experience in applied research
  • Prior experience in digital filters, digital audio signal chains and processing
  • Experience in working with DAWs (digital audio workstations)
  • Experience/interest in audio signal path operation in electronics, consumer products
  • Published material in the relevant field within last 3 years
