Collections Manager

Salary range: £42,000 - £50,000, dependent on experience

Permanent, full-time

Location: Multi-site in London, and offsite storage facilities as required

Role summary

Reporting to and working with the Head of Collections, the Collections Manager will be centrally engaged in the development of collections management policies and processes as well as support the wider collections strategy. Managing the Collections Coordinators and the Collections Assistants and working closely with the wider Collections and Research team, they will oversee the day-to-day running of collections activities, including the inventory project, storage rationalisation and collections access. They will also work closely with the Programme team to support and facilitate the programme of loans, exhibitions, events and online content.

The role requires a good understanding of best practice within collections management, particularly SPECTRUM and ISAD(G) standards. They will have excellent IT skills to lead on the development of the Foundation’s collections management system and digital asset management system. Ideally, they will have previous experience of training and project management, as well as experience of coordinating loans and working on exhibitions. While not necessarily central to the role, the Collections Manager would benefit from experience of working with design and architecture collections, and a developed understanding of the work of Zaha Hadid.
