Head of Supply Chain

Background

We are looking for a Head of Supply Chain to join our busy team on a full-time basis, based in Haverhill. You lead our Planning, Procurement, and logistics teams to drive step change improvement across planning, procurement and logistics.


The main purpose of this role is to manage a complex product portfolio and supply chain, developing procedures and the team to develop excellence. You will work closely with the production manager and interact with various other teams including finance, sales, and suppliers. You will aim to implement solutions to reduce waste. 

What you'll do

  • Lead for D365, ensuring ERP system is optimised for planning, routings, capacity and stock control.
  • Lead S&OP Process, aligning with stakeholders to set and monitor targets for sales, capacity, production and inventory.
  • Lead the procurement team ensuring optimised approaches for all raw material and bought in components.
  • ¬†Manage the implementation of warehousing solutions and picking improvements to reduce waste.
  • Responsible for inventory management including optimisation, stock control and inventory counting.
  • Works closely with the Operations Manager.
  • Responsible for optimisation of material flows across the warehouse, production and dispatch.
  • Manage/work in conjunction with the operations IT team and systems to ensure efficiency and business continuity.
  • Work with process engineering to ensure routing and capacity are clear and modelled in D365, with bottlenecks identified and appropriate actions identified to manage.
  • Ensure optimised planning approach to balance customer demands, order fulfilment times and efficient use of capacity.

Who you are

  • Degree or proven record within Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Economics.
  • Excellent ERP system knowledge, Ideally D365.
  • Extensive knowledge of planning and supply chain approaches and methodologies.
  • Excellent practical working knowledge of implementing lean supply chain solutions, such as Kanban, Milk Runner, Heijunka.
  • Great communications skills, comfortable on shopfloor and office environment.
  • Hands on leadership approach to teach, guide, mentor and coach team towards future vision.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment essential.
  • Great analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven.
  • Proven experience of the implementation of new systems and processes.
  • Demonstrable people management skills with the ability to balance multiple people challenges of varying complexities.
