About is the group’s flagship comparison product. launched in September 2016 offering customers’ whole of market price comparison services for a full suite of loan and credit products. 

We are the UK’s fastest growing consumer credit focused price comparison website and we are looking for a talented Developer to join the Money Guru team to take ownership of the Money Guru website and key developments

Key Responsibilities

Money Guru tech stack development.

Implementing website applications and web services, both front and back end.

Implement highly innovative user experiences for our customers.

Providing partners with support on technical integrations.

Setting up and managing interfaces with product providers

Support ongoing business requirements.

Continually test and develop the platform's capability ensuring it is optimised and market leading.

Create reporting solutions for errors and communicate to internal stakeholders and partners.

Effectively troubleshoot problems, identifying and implementing solutions.

Perform regular detailed reviews of existing systems, identifying areas of improvement & optimisations.

To follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams.

Assist in developing documentation to support knowledge base and internal procedures for varied audiences.

Work & collaborate where required with group data and tech teams.

Key Skills

A proven experience in building complex and scalable web-based applications and PHP.

A deep understanding of database technologies, including MySQL. Any experience of NoSQL databases would be beneficial but not mandatory.

Experience in Microservices.

A working knowledge of frameworks would be beneficial including Laravel and Codeigniter.

Javascript, NodeJS and VueJS would be beneficial.

Knowledge of API’s, especially SOAP and Rest APIs.

Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git or SVN.

Testing strategies, automated and unit testing.

A knowledge of Financial services would be beneficial but not mandatory, full training will be provided.

Open API / Swagger / Postman would be beneficial.

Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.

Good understanding and knowledge of consumer finance.

Ability to break down and solve complex problems.

A good understanding of analytics and performance to identify optimisation opportunities.

Pro-active and can-do attitude.

Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Able to manage a busy workload in a fast paced environment and communicate well with key stakeholders at all levels.

Able to work on own initiative.

Excellent attention to detail.

Able to work methodically.
