Business Development Manager

We are seeking a detail-orientated Business Development Manager with experience in the Fenestration industry to join our dynamic team.


The Business Development Manager for the Rocal Group and BDC Aluminium will play a pivotal role in overseeing sales objectives, setting goals, and ensuring a consistent flow of desirable new opportunities in alignment with the company's vision.


This position will be instrumental in promoting and delivering group sales strategies to drive the company's growth objectives. Key responsibilities include leading sales plans, developing existing key accounts and identifying new business opportunities utilising the Company’s CRM System.


This is a primarily field-based role serving our national customer base, with 3-4 days per week on the road, and 1-2 days per week in our office in Witham, Essex, or at home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of sales strategies and processes to achieve organisational objectives. Influence the company's growth objectives while ensuring alignment with the overall business vision.
  • Sales Planning and Forecasting: Working closely with the Business Development Executive, provide data for sales forecasting and develop annual sales targets for each area. Monitor sales performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to meet objectives.
  • Sales Objectives: To utilise all available CRM tools, along with working alongside key stakeholders within the group to deliver the agreed sales targets.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Establish and maintain productive relationships with key accounts. Stay informed about evolving customer needs and assess the quality of the company's relationship with them.
  • Market Analysis: Stay current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors. Identify new potential customers and market opportunities.
  • Sales Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular sales reports and feedback on customer expectations, preferences, and dislikes. Monitor performance metrics and suggest improvements/actions.
  • Brand Protection: Serve as the face of the Rocal Group and protect the BDC brand through professional interactions and representation.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Business Degree minimum 2:1 or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially strong Excel skills.
  • Exceptional knowledge of CRM software.
  • Full driving license.
  • Significant industry sales management experience.
  • Ability to understand and analyse sales performance metrics.
  • Experience growing business within large accounts.
  • Proficiency in working to KPIs and achieving targets.
  • Proven budget management skills and understanding of financial data.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to convey information clearly and persuasively.
  • Expert understanding of Customer Relationship Management.
  • Strong business planning skills with the ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
