Requirements

Valentia Partners are currently hiring for the role of consultant. Our essential skills and entry requirements for this role are below. 


Academic / Professional Qualifications

  • 1st Class Bachelor’s (in any subject)
  • 2.1 Bachelors (in any subject)
  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject
  • Further qualifications in project management / financial services desired (e.g. PRINCE2 or equivalent, CFA, etc.)


Project Work Experience:

  • 3+ industry project related experience preferably in a change / transformation role. FS Experience desirable.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in the Financial Services sector and continues to develop specific knowledge in specialist areas over a 3-to-5-year period
  • Has specific expertise in one or more of the following delivery capabilities: Target operating model, project management, data modelling, business requirements, process improvements, data analysis, business architecture, business case, solution design, business architecture, system design, testing
  • Experience in managing project deliveries and / or other resources within a programme workstream to produce specific outputs, including business and function requirements documentation, test documentation, data analysis, Excel models, operating model documentation and process maps
  • Creates delivery plans, status reports and manages milestones and RAIDs to consistently produce the delivery output to a high standard and to tough deadlines
  • Experience around problem solving, innovative thinking, critical assessments, roadmaps, estimating & planning work effort, stakeholder management and communication
  • Works with a high level of independence, flexibility and integrity to deliver specific outputs as required by the project and understands how these elements deliver client value and fit with the overall programme objective


On Client Site, the person will

  • Work with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation and client project to build positive working relationships that achieve results
  • Broaden and strengthen relationships with clients and industry professionals. Engage and work directly with SMEs and other clients to create sustainable client value to industry best practice standards
  • Work with a Manager (Valentia Partners or Client) to shape elements of the delivery and structure a small team to execute quality work deliverables
  • Provide support and guidance to Consulting Analysts and other junior team members
  • Develop a strong professional network within the client group and maintain strong relationships with former clients. Utilise this network to identify opportunities for potential client engagement. Establish broad industry connectivity with peers and leaders.


Within Valentia Partners, the person will

  • Contribute to Valentia Partners success as a firm by helping to identify commercial opportunities, build strong working client relationships, develop sales pitches for new / existing client work and support/coach new team members to ensure successful transition to client teams
  • Work with and mentor more junior employees to build their skills and knowledge and look to continually improve and develop their own skills, knowledge or qualifications as part of a lifelong learner and growth mindset
  • Independently lead projects within Valentia Partners and contribute to the delivery of larger propositional or internal initiatives. Propose ideas for the development of the firm and actively support the recruitment process
