Social Media Content Creator - Entry Level

  • Full-time
  • Management and Administration

Description

Dublin Zoo holds the prestigious position of being one of Ireland's top Family Attractions for almost 200 years. We are a conservation charity. Our purpose is to save wildlife and inspire a passion for nature - one person, one family at a time. All members of the Dublin Zoo team are expected to uphold CARE Values.

We're looking for a Social Media Content Creator - Entry Level to join our Marketing team. This role is perfect for someone with some hands-on experience creating content for social media who is ready to take the next step in their career.

You'll be curious, creative and full of ideas, with a passion for storytelling and an instinct for spotting moments that connect with audiences.

This is not your average content creation role! Every day at Dublin Zoo is different. One moment you could be filming a keeper talking about a new arrival, the next interviewing colleagues or volunteers, capturing an event, jumping on a trending format, or appearing in content yourself.

The successful candidate for this role will love meeting people, building relationships across the organisation and bringing the stories of Dublin Zoo to life.

As Dublin Zoo continues its journey as a leading conservation charity, you'll help tell stories that inspire millions of people to connect with wildlife and support our mission.

While this is a role for someone in the early stages of their career, the learning opportunities and experience on offer are exceptional. You'll quickly become part of exciting, high-impact projects and work alongside some of Ireland's leading marketing, communications and conservation professionals. It's a unique opportunity to develop your skills in social media strategy, content creation and digital storytelling while making a real contribution from day one.

Role Terms

This is a fixed-term, full-time, office-based role based at Dublin Zoo in the Phoenix Park. The successful candidate will be required to work five days over seven at peak times, in line with department needs. This will include occasional weekend work and flexibility to work outside standard office hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Dublin Zoo’s Marketing team to deliver Dublin Zoo's social media strategy, ensuring it supports our wider organisational objectives.
  • Create engaging, high-quality content for Dublin Zoo's social media channels and website, including video, photography, graphics and written content.
  • Identify and capture authentic stories from across the Zoo by working with colleagues, volunteers and visitors.
  • Be comfortable presenting in front of the camera occasionally if needed - and supporting colleagues to do the same.
  • Manage Dublin Zoo's social media channels on a day-to-day basis, including publishing content, monitoring conversations, responding to comments and messages, and engaging with our online community.
  • Write compelling copy that reflects Dublin Zoo's tone of voice.
  • Keep your ear to the ground on emerging social media trends, new platform features and content formats, bringing fresh ideas to the team.
  • Monitor social media performance and contribute ideas to continually improve engagement and reach.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Dublin Zoo's conservation mission, brand and audiences to create meaningful content that resonates.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has some experience creating content for social media, whether in-house, through an agency, freelance work or a personal brand with demonstrable results.
  • Has experience filming and editing video content for social media.
  • Is naturally curious and always looking for interesting stories to tell.
  • Is outgoing, approachable and enjoys meeting and working with a wide variety of people.
  • Is confident pitching ideas and turning them into engaging content.
  • Thrives in a fast-moving, unpredictable environment where no two days are the same.
  • Has a good understanding of social media platforms, content formats, trends and best practice.
  • Has experience using social media scheduling and reporting tools.
  • Has experience using design and editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop etc.) or equivalent creative tools.
  • Is highly organised, collaborative and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Shares Dublin Zoo's passion for wildlife conservation and is excited to help tell stories that inspire people to take action.
