Role Summary


We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Facilities & Lab Support Technician to provide maintenance and vendor coordination support across our GMP and R&D facilities. This role is ideal for candidates with a trade qualification, a technical or science degree, or relevant experience in equipment maintenance, laboratory operations, and contractor oversight.


Key Responsibilities:


Maintenance & Technical Support


Support the diagnosis and arrange repair minor mechanical and electrical faults.

Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

 

Vendor Management & Coordination


  • Liaise with third-party vendors for lab equipment servicing, calibration, and repairs.
  • Request quotations, schedule service visits, and ensure vendor compliance with GMP and safety procedures.
  • Track service activity, documentation, and follow-up actions via the CMMS system.

 

Operational & Compliance Support


  • Support audits, equipment onboarding and decommissioning, and adherence to change control protocols.
  • Maintain up-to-date equipment records and ensure alignment with calibration and maintenance schedules

 

Safety & Compliance


  • Ensure all work is conducted in line with EHS, GMP, and GLP standards.
  • Promote a strong culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to safety reporting and investigations, ensuring completion of corrective actions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs to stay updated on technological advancements and compliance requirements.


Experience & Qualifications:


Essential


  • Science/engineering degree, or demonstrable relevant experience. Trade qualification (mechanical or electrical) is a benefit.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a technical, maintenance, or lab support role.
  • Experience managing vendors and coordinating technical service activities.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and equipment calibration/PM planning.

 

Preferred


  • Experience working in GMP, GLP, or regulated laboratory environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and digital documentation tools.

 

Work Environment:


  • Fast-paced R&D and GMP environment, requiring flexibility, responsiveness and a comprehension of where compliance and regulation is applicable.
  • Work may require shifts, including some evenings, weekends, or on-call availability as needed.
