This is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance team at Britain’s longest established and world-famous conservatoire for filmmakers. The school, now in its 70th anniversary year, is based in Covent Garden in the heart of London. LFS alumni include famous veterans (Mike Leigh, Michael Mann, Tak Fujimoto, Ann Hui) and famous younger filmmakers including Carla Simon, Oliver Hermanus, Babak Jalali, and the creator of End of the F**king World, Jonathan Entwistle.  


LFS is one of only two film schools in the UK to have been awarded ‘world leading’ specialist provider institution status and funding from the Office for Students. 


Vacancy Details

Job Title:  Finance Assistant 

Contract:  Permanent, full time (35 hours per week) 

Salary/Benefits: £30-32,000 per annum 

Location: London WC2B 5PH (Hybrid working, onsite 3-4 days per week)


Job Summary

We are looking for someone who is organised, accurate and enjoys working with numbers. You will be comfortable managing a varied workload, providing excellent customer service and building positive working relationships with colleagues, students and external suppliers.


Whether you are already working in a finance role or looking to build on existing finance experience, you will be keen to develop your skills and contribute to a busy and supportive team.

What You’ll Do:


Accounts Payable

  • Process invoices, expenses and payments accurately and on time.
  • Manage purchase orders, supplier accounts and procurement administration.
  • Respond to supplier and internal finance queries and support purchasing activities.


Student Fees & Income

  • Maintain student accounts and process student payments.
  • Support fee collection, income allocation and account reconciliation.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate student payment records.


Finance Administration

  • Support reconciliations, month-end activities and financial reporting.
  • Investigate and resolve financial queries and discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous process improvements.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance Team.
