Description

I am a 64-year-old woman who enjoyed living independently in my own home in North Lanarkshire. I am generally a very polite, thoughtful, happy woman who enjoys listening to music & dancing. I have a great imagination and a mischievous sense of humour. Although I have strong verbal skills, I can find communicating and some social situations difficult to interpret.

I am very proud of my independence & living in my community. I always like to be smartly dressed, have my hair styled & have my jewellery on. I am looking for someone who can encourage and support me to maintain and develop these skills. I require my support staff to prompt me around my household tasks and managing my personal care although I can complete these independently. I also use my support to access my local community and to pursue my interests. Lately I have been unable to go out and enjoy my local community and will therefore be looking for support to re-establish my routines as quickly as possible. I have adapted well to the current situation; However I will soon be moving to a new home that better meets my needs, I will have a new staff team in place so will need a lot of guidance and support to understand everything that is going on around me.

I am looking for someone who

·        has an understanding of working with people with complex health & mental health needs.

·        is calm and confident and can remain relaxed and provide reassurance when I am upset

·       is perceptive and can read my moods or situations and act accordingly

·       is willing to understand my needs and is prepared to persevere to get it right

·       has a good sense of humour

·       will provide a consistent approach

I will have 2 staff supporting me at all times of the day & night, should I require additional support at this time I also have technology in place to keep me safe and would rely on my response on-call support. I am looking for a new team to support me back into the community and into my new home.
