Description

deVOL Kitchens is one of the leading and most highly regarded kitchen companies in the UK, with manufacturing and design offices based in Leicestershire, London, Bath, and New York.

We are looking for someone to join our Production Team to assist with preparing kitchen orders for manufacture and monitoring their progress through the workshop.

The primary role will involve producing technical drawings, creating cutting lists for cabinets, and generally helping to oversee production in our workshops. You will be required to use a variety of tools and programmes, primarily including Drafsight and an in-house integrated manufacturing system.

You'll also be involved in the organisation and scheduling of orders for multiple furniture ranges, as well as liaising between the workshop and Project management departments, offering technical advice, updates, and resolutions where required.

As we have an integrated CNC department, there will also be a requirement for some offline programming in Biesse 3 & 5 axis machines using bSuite/bSolid software. Experience with these programmes would be beneficial, but not essential, as full training will be provided. As your experience grows there will be a focus on improving efficiency, reducing waste and developing programmes and components for various ranges of furniture.

The successful candidate will be working on several projects each week, as part of a strong team in a fast-paced environment.

Your job at deVOL will involve:

  • Producing production drawings and cutting lists that clearly and accurately communicate design details to the workshop.
  • Helping to organise the production of multiple aspects of customers’ orders to ensure that they leave the workshop correctly and on time.
  • Helping to refine processes and gain efficiencies during manufacture.
  • Possibly working with external suppliers to help fulfil orders.
  • Offline programming for Biesse 3 & 5 Axis CNC machines.
  • Developing programmes and working with operators to reduce down-time and waste.
  • Monitor various 3 & 5 axis CNC machines and associated tooling with the help of shop floor staff.
  • Contribute to a range of development projects across the wider workshop environment.
  • Working as part of a diverse team to ensure manufacturing and development targets are achieved.

Requirements

We would love you to:

  • Have experience using CAD software (advantageous but not essential).
  • Have experience using MS Office, such as Excel and Word.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and be practically minded.
  • Be personable and friendly, with good organisational skills.
  • Be able to interpret and communicate product designs effectively.
  • Be a confident problem-solver.
  • Have some practical knowledge (useful but not essential).

This role would be particularly appealing to those at the beginning of their career in the furniture-making industry or recent graduates with relevant qualifications, as it provides hands-on experience and opportunities for professional growth.

Benefits

In return, we offer a competitive salary starting from £26,000 per annum (based on experience) and during your first year you will receive training in the role and performance appraisals. After this we offer annual pay reviews and continued support from the team.

You will receive 22 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays) which can increase with length of service and experience, as well as life insurance, a wellness program, cycle 2 work scheme and company events.
