Overall Purpose:


  • To create fundraising strategies for our leading charity clients, across a breath of disciplines including acquisition, retention, legacy, events and innovation.
  • To build strong relationships with charity clients, helping to open new opportunities
  • To inspire and champion sector leading creative ideas across a range of fundraising projects


Key areas of accountability and responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy -


  • To create fundraising strategies for our leading charity clients, across a breath of disciplines including acquisition, retention, legacy, events and innovation.
  • Build strong relationships with our charity clients to understand their context, ambitions and challenges.
  • Recommend, execute and interpret relevant research strategies that ensure evidence-based strategies
  • Evaluate campaigns and recommend optimisation strategies
  • Work with clients to shape their fundraising budgets, including basic level financial modelling
  • Take ownership of allocated charity clients and projects, suggesting ways forward and spotting proactive opportunities


Creative Communication:

Distil Insight


  • Gather audience, cultural and market research, using our internal research tools (Canvsas8, YouGov, Wonder) and other sources
  • Translate this research into actionable insights that create inspiring and innovative creative work
  • Work in an agile way to reach inspiring insights and strategies quickly from large amount of information, focusing only on what’s important.

Creative briefs


  • Write concise and insight driven creative briefs using the inspire innovation and creative new ideas


Clear and inspiring presentation


  • Create concise presentations for that give rationale and ‘sell’ ideas and strategies.
  • Design and lead client workshops that help shape a project quickly from the contributions of various stakeholders


Business Development


  • Participate in pitches and proposals to answer new opportunities; shaping strategic direction, directing internal and external contributors, own and lead the presentations and proposals to the prospective client
  • Develop strong relationships with senior charity clients to understand their challenges and grow new opportunities
  • Support our client services teams to map and implement account plans that grow business from existing clients


Thought Leadership


  • Have an informed opinion on the future of the fundraising sector. Help to develop new sector-leading thinking.
  • Translate thought leadership into opinion pieces and platform speaking at events to grow our agency reputation


Team Collaboration


  • Working alongside colleagues in the team on projects, either supporting or leading strategy
  • Contribute to planning forums with inspiration from in or outside of the sector
  • Work collaboratively with our client services and creatives to help produce our best creative work


Knowledge/ Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have an in depth knowledge of the fundraising sector or direct response marketing more broadly. Fundraising or direct response marketing more broadly.

This may be from time spend in a fundraising team or an agency with expertise in fundraising or direct response marketing.
