Description
We’re not your typical financial institution. We’re a member-owned, values-driven credit union making a real difference in our community. Our mission? To provide fair, affordable financial services to those who Serve & Protect – and to prove that people really do come before profit. If you're looking for a role where what you do actually matters, this is it.
As our Business Development Officer, you’ll be the friendly face (and sharp mind) behind our growth. You’ll help us reach new members, build partnerships, and spread the good word about what we do.
Think of yourself as part relationship-builder, part community champion, and part creative strategist. One day you might be pitching our services to a local employer, the next you’re hosting a workshop on ethical finance – no two days are the same, and we like it that way.
Before you read on, please note that this role is primarily based in the North East and will involve a fair bit of travel.
Key activities you'll be involved in:
Supporting growth in membership and loans across the Credit Union’s potential membership.
Initiating, managing, maintaining and developing relationships with key stakeholders across our various markets (Police, Military, Prison, Fire & Health)
Proactively booking and attending promotional events to promote the Credit Union and identifying business development opportunities.
Identifying and actioning new business opportunities.
Attend relevant events/conferences within the Credit Union sector.
Support the marketing team with various marketing strategies.
Monitor industry trends and competitor activities.
Providing weekly reports on progress regarding KPIs related to membership and loan growth.
Supporting budget control on Business Development and Marketing activity.
Helping identify a list of industry related accreditations and awards available and associated deadlines.
Supporting the Business Development Manager in developing new products and services for the membership.
Maintaining up to date knowledge of all credit union products and services.
Complying with data protection legislation and to maintain strict confidentiality and security in dealing with all information relating to the Credit Union and its members, in accordance with policies and procedures.
Working to the policies and procedures including relevant legislation and guidelines set down by the Credit Union, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Prudential Regulation Authority, the Financial Ombudsman Service, the Information Commissioner’s Office and any other standards as instructed in the course of your duties.
