We are based in our friendly office in Leigh, Lancashire but have members of the team who work remotely in other parts of the UK and across the world. 

The Role

As a key member of the Tyrrell Systems Team, you will take a leading role in the running of the Operations Department. You will support the operations team to ensure smooth delivery of projects and services focusing on the company values of delivering value to the customer. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and work closely with both senior management and engineers. You will also interact with the other divisions of the Group and will be an integral member of the team helping to provide structure around all our commercial activities. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of smart building, IoT, and automation systems. 
  • Project management: Proven experience in end-to-end project management, strong organisational and multitasking skills 
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders  
  • Leadership: Experience leading cross-functional teams  
  • Regulatory compliance: Familiarity with building codes and safety standards 
  • Risk management: Proactive identification and mitigation of project risks 
  • Vendor and budget management: Selection and management of vendors. Budget creation, monitoring, and cost control 
  • Integration expertise: Understanding of technology integration and interoperability. 
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.  
  • Sustainability awareness: Knowledge of sustainable building practices  
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends.  
  • Documentation: Thorough documentation of project plans and progress reports.

Requirements

  • Passion and enthusiasm for the technology industry and our part within it. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Project Management/Engineering experience within building automation. 
  • Experience within construction would be advantageous. 
  • Proficiency in project management principles and processes.  
  • Strong financial acumen encompassing cost analysis, forecasting, and variance. 
  • Effective cross-functional communication skills, collaborating seamlessly with program teams and sponsors. 
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and create their work schedules with minimal supervision. 
  • Excellent troubleshooting, creative and technical problem-solving skills 
  • Experience of working in Smart Buildings Industry would be advantageous but is not essential. 

Package Details

Location: HQ office in Leigh, Lancashire. Occasional travel across the UK required


Reporting to: Engineering Manager


Core Working Hours: 9am to 5:30pm Monday - Friday (Excluding public holidays)


Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 per annum


Pension: 3% company contribution after 3 months of employment


Holiday Allowance: 25 days per year from 1st January to 31st December
