About Paybis

Paybis is a regulated crypto platform that makes it simple for people to buy, sell, and move digital assets, with licences and registrations in the EU, Canada, and the United States. Paybis USA LTD is our FinCEN-registered Money Services Business and serves our US customers. The US is one of our most important growth markets. Our banking, card, and payment partners rely on a compliance program they can trust.

About the role

As Chief Compliance Officer / BSA Officer of Paybis USA, you will be the named individual responsible for our BSA/AML and OFAC sanctions compliance program. You will make filing, exit, and escalation decisions independently, and you will have direct access to the Board.

We have an established program. Your job is to keep it examination-ready every day and to raise it to a standard that supports our US growth. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has owned a program under examination, files SARs that hold up, and is comfortable delivering a hard message to a Board.

What you’ll do

  • Own and maintain the BSA/AML and OFAC program, including policies, procedures, the business risk assessment, filing logs, training records, and vendor files.
  • Maintain our FinCEN MSB registration, including renewals and other obligations.
  • Oversee transaction monitoring, alert disposition, and investigation standards.
  • Make SAR filing decisions, then draft, approve, and file SARs. Manage continuing-activity reviews and SAR confidentiality.
  • Own OFAC screening across customers, counterparties, wallet addresses, and geolocation. This includes adjudicating matches and filing blocked and rejected transaction reports.
  • Set KYC, EDD, and customer risk-rating standards, and approve high-risk and PEP relationships.
  • Oversee our KYC, screening, and blockchain analytics vendors.
  • Review new products, payment methods, and partner integrations for BSA/OFAC impact before launch. The goal is to be a decisive partner to Business, not a bottleneck.
  • Commission the independent review, lead examinations and audits, and remediate findings with evidence.
  • Support partner due diligence.
  • Report on program status, filings, findings, and emerging risk.
  • Track the regulatory horizon, including rulemaking, designations, and enforcement trends, and turn it into program changes.

What you bring

  • 7+ years of BSA/AML compliance experience at a US-regulated financial institution, such as an MSB, money transmitter, bank, broker-dealer, or regulated fintech.
  • 3+ of those years as a designated BSA Officer, Deputy BSA Officer, or equivalent with filing authority.
  • Hands-on program ownership at a crypto exchange, VASP, crypto-native MSB, or payments/fintech MSB.
  • Working command of the FinCEN MSB regime,, SAR and CTR filing, the Funds Transfer and Travel Rules, MSB registration, and FIN-2019-G001.
  • Direct experience drafting and filing SARs, including narrative quality, timing rules, and continuing-activity reviews.
  • OFAC sanctions experience, including screening design, true-match adjudication, blocked and rejected reporting, and crypto-specific exposure such as SDN-listed wallets, mixers, and sanctioned exchanges.
  • A track record of independence. You have held a filing, exit, or program-adequacy position under commercial pressure.
  • Experience preparing for and responding to examinations, enquiries, independent reviews, or audits.
  • The ability to run the program end to end.
  • Excellent written English. Hands-on use of AI tools in compliance work.
  • You are based in the US, are authorized to work in the US without sponsorship, and are willing to be named as BSA Officer to FinCEN and our partners. This role is subject to a background check, conducted in accordance with applicable law.
  • This is a full-time, in-house role. If you currently hold fractional BSA Officer engagements, you must be willing to exit them on appointment.

Nice to have

  • Blockchain analytics proficiency with tools such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM, or Scorechain.
  • Visa/Mastercard crypto program or acquirer compliance exposure.
  • State money transmitter licensing experience (NMLS).
  • Experience presenting to a Board, audit committee, or regulator.
  • Exposure to EU, UK, or Canadian regulatory regimes.
  • CAMS, CAMS-Audit, CCAS, CFE, or CRCM. Demonstrated program ownership counts for more than the credential.
