The Star Centre is a welcoming peer-led community hub operated by EACH, supporting adults experiencing mental health challenges, social isolation, and emotional wellbeing difficulties. We provide a safe, inclusive environment where people can build confidence, develop new skills, form meaningful connections, and improve their overall wellbeing.

Through group activities, one-to-one support, signposting, and community engagement opportunities, the Star Centre helps individuals move towards greater independence and recovery.


The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and reliable Support Worker to provide temporary cover for a valued member of staff who will be absent.

You will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the Star Centre and supporting service users to access activities, build social connections, and achieve their personal goals.

Salary, Rewards and Benefits

Salary:    £14.80 -£16.00 per hour                               

Location: Star Centre – Hounslow       

Contract: Temporary Cover (6 Weeks) Start Date: 1st July 2026 Working Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday | 2:00pm – 8:00pm (18 hours per week) Location: Star Centre, Hounslow

Key Duties


Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and support service users attending the centre.
  • Facilitate and assist with group activities and wellbeing sessions.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to individuals accessing the service.
  • Promote recovery, independence, and social inclusion.
  • Maintain accurate records and attendance information.
  • Support service users to access community resources and opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and partner organisations.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality procedures are followed at all times.
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the centre such as cooking meals.
  • Can build positive and professional relationships with service users.
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
  • Is confident facilitating small groups and community activities.


About You

  • We are looking for someone who:
  • Has experience supporting people in a health, wellbeing, community, housing, or social care setting.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is organised, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting people experiencing mental health.
