We are seeking to hire 2-3x people to help us do channel checks – finding and interviewing buyers, suppliers, distributors, vendors, and customers – across a broad spectrum of companies and industries to help our clients - some of the world's largest hedge funds and private equity funds - gain an informational advantage to make fully informed investment decisions.

We are hiring at all levels for hybrid working roles in our Glasgow and London offices.

We are looking for a channel check equity research analysts to join our team of investment professionals to help drive our growth. This is an excellent opportunity to be the lead analyst covering your sector and to position yourself for unique career opportunities in the hedge fund and private equity industries.

📊SYNDICATE CHANNEL CHECK RESEARCH TEAM

Woozle's Syndicate Research team is made up of Channel Check Equity Research Analysts that write ongoing monthly and quarterly research reports on more than 200 publicly listed companies. Each Channel Check Analyst covers up to 15-companies within a sector vertical across industries such as food retail, luxury goods, fashion retail, DIY and home improvement, travel, leisure, and restaurants and many more sectors are being added every quarter.

Woozle's Syndicate Research team works exclusively with institutional investors that invest in publicly listed companies and our clients include many of the world's largest hedge funds and mutual fund managers. Clients commission us to complete interviews and surveys with key company stakeholders such as clients, customers, distributors, suppliers, and industry experts to help them get a more leading, accurate, and unique insight into how a company is performing so that they can make a more informed investment decision.

Primary Research Analysts on our Syndicate Research team work very closely with our team of full-time Equity Analysts to collect opinions from industry sources that will help give investment professionals a leading, accurate, and differentiated insight into how companies are performing.

Equity Analysts on our Syndicate Research team are responsible for designing questions, briefing a team of primary research telephone interviewers, and reviewing and approving hundreds of completed surveys every month to help them write investment research reports on companies in their coverage universe.

Our Primary Research team completes several thousand surveys every month so Primary Research Analysts in our Syndicate Research team can expect to spend a lot of time on the phone talking to industry professionals such as store managers, sales advisors, and front-line staff globally to help collect opinions and observations on current trading and topical news flow. The insights and opinions gathered by our Primary Research team are used by our Equity Research team to help write compelling investment research recommendations for clients.

🏢 WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS ROLE

A typical day will include...

• Writing monthly and quarterly investment research reports.
• Monitoring company news flow, earnings releases, and data points.
• Pitching your long & short recommendations to hedge funds.
• Briefing a team of telephone interviews on the latest developments in your sector.
• Identifying and connecting with industry experts to cultivate long-lasting relationships.
• Recruiting experts to take part in interviews to share their insights.
• Leading interviews with senior industry experts to extract relevant insights for investors.
• Writing up interview transcripts, notes, and feedback from expert calls.
• Designing targeted and thesis-relevant questions to include in our channel checks.
• Reviewing, analysing, and interpreting our primary research insights for investors.
• Attending internal analyst team meetings to discuss the market and industry trends.
• Contributing long & short trade recommendations for our internal portfolios.
• Studying for capital markets and financial analysis qualifications and training courses.
• Attending industry events and conferences relevant to your sector.

You're a perfect fit for this role if...

• You have proven experience in a client-facing role.
• You have an obvious passion & deep understanding of equity research.
• You have experience doing primary research (e.g. surveys, interviews, expert calls).
• You've got experience evaluating business models.
• You are comfortable interviewing senior-level executives about niche business topics.
• You're eager to learn, ask questions, and seek guidance when you're unsure.
• You love challenges, solving problems, and working as a team to find solutions.
• You can balance multiple deadlines and always find a way to deliver excellent work.
• You're driven, motivated, and excel in a goals & targets-oriented working culture.
• You're currently an undergrad or graduate at a top-tier university; or,
• You've got 2-5 years of relevant experience in equity research or management consultancy.
• You are ambitious and constantly looking for new challenges & responsibilities.
