Role Purpose

 

APC’s Project Managers work closely with the world’s leading biopharma and pharma companies to deliver projects that accelerate the delivery of the world’s most exciting medicines.

 

The Project managers work in close partnership with The Medicine Accelerators world class technical and operations teams to ensure our clients Medicine goals are met in a complex and fast-moving environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Deliver Project Management Excellence for assigned projects

 

Position Overview:

 

  • The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the successful execution of client projects from initial process transfer into APC to completion of the process development program and transfer back to our clients or to our GMP manufacturing suite, VLE.


  • This individual will manage timelines, budgets, resources, and client relationships while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality processes.


  •  The Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams and be the key point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless communication and successful project outcomes.

 

Project Planning & Execution:

 

  • Lead the project management process for drug development and manufacturing projects, including timelines, resource allocation, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Oversight of program delivery via APC’s knowledge management platform iACHIEVE.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans for each phase of the project, ensuring that client expectations and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Monitor and track project progress, adjusting plans as needed to keep projects on schedule and within budget.


Client Relationship Management:

 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring regular and transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage client expectations, ensuring that all milestones and deliverables are met to their satisfaction.
  • Address client concerns or issues, resolving them quickly and maintaining strong, positive relationships.


Cross-functional Team Leadership:

 

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams consisting of scientist, engineers, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, manufacturing, and other departments.
  • Ensure that all team members are aligned with the project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members to ensure productivity and high-quality output.


Budget & Financial Management:

 

  • Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring that projects remain within financial constraints.
  • Work closely with finance and operations teams to provide accurate cost estimates, track spending, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure that any deviations from the budget are communicated promptly to senior management and clients.


Risk Management & Problem Solving:

 

  • Identify potential risks to project timelines, budgets, and quality, and proactively develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve project-related challenges and escalate issues to senior leadership when necessary.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions as needed to maintain project success.


Continuous Improvement:

 

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of internal processes, procedures, and best practices to drive and support the ambitious growth of The Medicine Accelerator
  • Work with our CMC to define, create, trial and document new service offerings across the Medicine Accelerator Value Chain to support our customers to meet their complex needs.
  • Gather feedback from clients and internal teams post-project to identify areas for improvement and enhance future project execution.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field


Experience

 

  • Minimum of 3- years’ industry experience in technical or project management
  • Proven experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects in drug development, production, or manufacturing.
  • In-depth knowledge of GMP, regulatory guidelines, and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience managing client relationships and ensuring the timely delivery of services.


Skills & Knowledge

 

  • Strong project management skills, including proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or similar.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
