BLINK INDUSTRIES is an Emmy-winning and BAFTA-nominated development and production studio based in London. We specialise in bringing an inventive, mixed-media approach to our slate of Comedy and Family projects, and we're passionate about developing ideas that look and feel like no other.


We are looking for talented and multi-faceted Senior CG lighting & rendering Generalists to join our team on an exciting new 2D/CG mixed media TV series project that we're bringing to life at our North-London-based studio. This role is set to start as soon as possible and begins initially as a short-term position.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working on an Animated TV Series
  • Ability to work towards TV series quotas in a fast-paced and highly creative series environment and understanding of importance to work to schedule and within scope
  • Expert knowledge of CG pipelines and enthusiastic about the latest techniques, software and visual trends, especially within the animation industry  
  • Expert knowledge of and sense for lighting and rendering setups and continuity to achieve the desired emotional impact
  • High attention and care for detail and high level of professional communication
  • Ability to troubleshoot and pro-actively identify, fix and report issues as required
  • Ability to take feedback constructively and implement it effectively 
  • Strong ability to multi-task and a creative and proactive approach to problem-solving  
  • Comfortable adapting to different styles and working to creative and technical briefings
  • Expert knowledge of lighting and rendering in Autodesk Maya and Arnold
  • Knowledge of mixed-media and After Effects pipelines

What will you be doing?

The Lighting/Rendering Artist will be part of a team of CG Artists to setup, light and render still and moving background plates and layers using as a reference the provided layouts, lighting scripts, key-shots, sets and technical and creative briefings.


Day-to-day work includes, but is not limited to, lighting scenes using the provided layouts and briefings, preparing and optimizing scenes and sets for rendering, monitor rendering processes and perform thorough quality checks on renders. In addition to the rendering and lighting of scenes you will also be expected to troubleshoot and proactively report any technical, creative and workflow issues as they arise.


The role is ideally based at our North-London based Studio in the UK/England, but we are open to remote/hybrid for the right candidate.
