JOB TITLE ESG Analyst
IMMEDIATE MANAGER ESG Reporting Manager
JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a detail oriented ESG Analyst to join MFGs growing ESG team.
The ESG Analyst will support in collecting and leveraging ESG data by producing reports for external and internal stakeholders, through the development of relevant reports and tools, to drive sustainability initiatives and enhance transparency.
The ESG Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the development of ESG reporting activities within MFG. They are responsible for supporting accurate and timely reporting of ESG data in line with MFG’s developing ESG strategy and compliance with the relevant frameworks and regulations.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. ESG Reporting and Compliance:
- Support in the development of MFGs ESG reporting frameworks and methodologies, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines such as CSRD, GRI, SASB, TCFD, TNFD, SECR and local reporting requirements.
- Support in the creation of MFGs annual ESG Report.
2. Data Collection & Analysis
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders (internal departments, investors, analysts, and ESG rating agencies) to collect data and communicate the organization's ESG performance, respond to inquiries, and address concerns.
- Collect, analyse, and interpret ESG data, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to generate comprehensive reports, presentations, and disclosures for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support in the development of internal initiatives to address areas of potential growth.
3. ESG Framework Development:
- Stay abreast of emerging ESG trends, regulations, and reporting frameworks to continuously improve and evolve the organization's ESG reporting and disclosure practices.
- Research ESG topics.
- Identify future legislation and regulation, develop strategies for ensuring MFG adheres to new requirements.
WORK CONTEXT
The post is based at MFG’s Head Office in St Albans, some business travel is likely to be required. Additional hours may also be required to be worked from time to time, over the contracted working hours, to ensure that the needs of the business are met.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Strong knowledge and experience of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including Excel, Sustainability management software, and ESG data platforms.
- Familiarity with ESG rating methodologies, benchmarking, and industry-specific ESG issues.
- Understanding of financial analysis, materiality assessments, and integration of ESG factors into investment decisions.
- Excellent project management skills to handle multiple reporting initiatives, meet deadlines, and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to collaborate with various teams across the business.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to successfully market MFG’s continuing work in support of the transition from a carbon based economy.
