Maintenance Technican
Job Title: Maintenance Process Technician
Department: Engineering
Reporting To: Business Unit Engineering Manager
SUMMARY: Reporting to a Business Unit Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Process Technician will provide manufacturing support, process support/trouble shooting of process issues, identifying equipment faults.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Engineers in developing, trouble shooting, standardising and improving existing production processes and procedures.
- Assist Engineers in investigating and implementing new production methods.
- Assist Engineers in design methods, part sourcing and documentation.
- Design, specify, manufacture, test and document production equipment, changes and improvements.
- Interface with a variety of internal personnel and with outside vendors as necessary while performing the above.
- Take responsibility for preventative maintenance procedures with an assigned process or area.
- Communicate any concerns about work process regarding environmental impact, health or safety issues to their Manager.
- Set up equipment and facilitate changeover.
- Calibrate equipment.
- Perform scheduled PMs.
- Change injection moulds as required.
- Implement process improvements
- Support projects as required.
- Ensure environmental impact of all operations is considered in relation to purchasing, waste management, recycling and energy.
- Conform to the requirements of the quality and environmental management system.
- Undertake ad hoc duties and projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- The ideal candidate should be a qualified fitter, toolmaker, and electrician or hold a mechatronic qualification.
- Previous experience of working in a dynamic cleanroom manufacturing environment preferably in the medical device area is desirable.
- Experience should include changeovers and troubleshooting on injection moulding, Multivac packaging, extrusion blow moulding, running automated lines a ultrasonic welding.
- Experience of completing maintenance tasks on a range of equipment.
- Strong team player, with the ability to work on own initiative
