And now we are seeking for a highly motivated and experienced Lawyer, who are ready to be a part of a talented international team. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice to the company across various subject areas, including licensing, corporate structuring and planning, international tax, corporate, and financial law
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and agreements with payment institutions, aquiring institutions, banks etc
  • Regularly review, draft, and update internal legal documents, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Review, draft, and update external customer notices and terms
  • Collaborate closely with the compliance team to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations
  • Conduct thorough legal research on various topics, including legal concepts, judicial opinions, statutes, and regulations, to provide informed guidance to the organization
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations related to virtual assets in different jurisdictions and advise the company on necessary adjustments to business practices
  • Handle legal inquiries from regulatory bodies and government authorities
  • Offer legal support and guidance to other departments as needed

WHAT WE ARE EXPECTING

  • Experience in drafting co-operation agreements, especially service agreements (B2B)
  • Experience in drafting agreements with aquiring institutions and agreements with banks to open accounts
  • Experience in working with payment institutions, understanding of how co-operation with payment institutions is formalised
  • Experience or understanding of working with additional payment methods
  • Understanding of the Payment Services Directive (PSD2)
  • Knowledge of Latvian legislation
  • Preferably knowledge of UK and Polish legislation
  • Organisational skills, responsible approach to work, strict adherence to set deadlines, logical thinking and focus on quality work results
  • Communication and argumentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to quickly find information and navigate through the legislation of countries with which the candidate has no previous experience will be considered as an advantage
  • Experience of working with labor law and cooperation with HR department is desirable

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in law or related field
  • 3-5 years of successful previous work experience as a Lawyer
  • Experience in Payment or Fintech industry will be considered as an advantage
