Description
Support the Legal Department by delivering high quality legal services across the organization. Assist with a range of legal matters, including contract review, compliance, corporate governance, and risk management, ensuring the company operates within legal and regulatory frameworks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
LEGAL ADVICE & DRAFTING
- Provide legal advice to business units on law, ethics, and corporate governance to minimize risk
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support compliance and resolve regulatory issues
- Liaise with departments to ensure identified legal risks are addressed appropriately
- Draft and review legal documents (contracts, agreements, pleadings, affidavits, leases, etc.) to protect company interests and ensure proper execution.
CONTRACT & RECORD MANAGEMENT
- Monitor’s expiry of contracts and tracks renewal process
- Maintain organized and accurate files and records
CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
- Support corporate governance activities, including preparing and distribution of meeting materials to Board and Committee Members.
- Provide general administrative support to the Head of legal, including scheduling meetings and managing documentation.
REGULATORY COMPLIANCE & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
- Assist in ensuring that the organization is compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Help ensure the organization’s compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Ensures timely response to customer complaints received from all regulators and stakeholder
LITIGATION
- Undertake litigation on behalf of the company
OTHER
- Any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor
Reports
- Prepare monthly reports as requested by the Head of Legal
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Atleast(2)years’ post admission experience from a previous similar position,
- Advocate of the high court of Zambia
- Membership to the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ)
- In-depth knowledge of all applicable Laws, rules and regulations.
- Ability to prepare complex documents.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
EDUCATION
- Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 Credits including English and Mathematics
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
