Site Manager

Purpose of the Position

·  Take ownership for their individual site, liaising with the Area Manager where necessary. This involves planning, coordinating and organising the operations of the forecourt and managing employees to achieve best performance.

 

·        Principal Responsibilities:


  • Take ownership for their individual site, liaising with the Area Manager where necessary.
  • Plan, co-ordinate and organise the operations of the forecourt.
  • Work with the Area Manager to determine products and services to be sold, ensuring adequate levels of stock are maintained and stock taking policies are followed at all times. Also to ensure stock is displayed in a way that will be inviting to the customer.
  • Review and sign off all timesheets and holiday requests, ensuring all shifts are covered and employees absence is recorded.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed in regard to the management and collection of cash. This includes ensuring security of monies and making sure that the cash in excess of the till ‘safe drop’ limit is placed in canisters/bags and put immediately into the safe.
  • Maintain the site to ensure it meets with Health & Safety requirements and that it is inviting to potential consumers and that any hazards are reported immediately to the Area Manager so that they can be dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance of oneself and customers with Hygiene Standards, Trading Standards, the Employment Law, the Petroleum Licence, Health & Safety at work act, and other regulations. This includes filling out the relevant log and reporting any incidents or accidents to the Area Manager.
  • Comply with The Company’s’ Policies and Procedures and ensure all employees adhere to them, making sure new recruits have undergone the necessary training in this area and that they have reached the standard of knowledge required to carry out the job. This includes ensuring employees have carried out the ‘Competent Person’ training for fuel deliveries and the paperwork is kept up to date and available.
  • To regularly check the operation of equipment, advising the Area Manager immediately of any malfunctions
  • Manage and constantly seek to increase the performance of the forecourt, ensuring a high level of service to customers at all times and that goods are well presented, and shelves stocked at all times.
  • Carry out regular stock takes in accordance with the company policy, investigating any discrepancies. In addition, manage the delivery of all stock to ensure it is accounted for correctly.
  • Oversee the management of employees within their team to ensure the forecourt is adequately manned and to work with the Area Manager to ensure current staffing practices meet with current employment laws.
  • Any other tasks at the request of the Area Manager.

 

Candidate Profile


  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar supervisory / management role.
  • Team player.
  • Management skills to organise and motivate the employees within the team, with the ability to delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • A practical approach to human resource management to enable appropriate policies and procedures to be followed adequately
  • Organisational skills of the highest order in order to dealing with a busy and dynamic work environment.
