About the team

Reports to:    DSP Functional Lead    

                                             

Our biologics team comprises of highly qualified, dynamic and welcoming colleagues.  We support our clients by delivering world class bioprocess development to accelerate the delivery of quality, life-changing medicines to the patient across a wide range of therapeutic areas from oncolytic vaccines to rare genetic diseases.

Principal Duties and Objectives


  • Act as technical supervisor and be accountable for the technical performance & delivery of the assigned projects.
  • Operate to GLP standards (adherence to APCs Safety and Quality Systems) within a R&D laboratory
  • Working within the process development team to plan, organise and supervise the execution of DSP biopharmaceutical process development projects through collaboration with other scientists, analysts and engineers, both internally and externally
  • Lead the development of biopharmaceutical scale-up strategies for biological-based processes to our non-GMP single-use pilot plant and to VLE’s GMP manufacturing suite.
  • Support the development and introduction of new techniques, methods and processes to improve business effectiveness, as required
  • Supervise the preparation of technical presentations and process development/deviation reports
  • Facilitate the discussion of issues, results and project progress with client companies and management
  • Support critical lab and equipment maintenance.


Minimum Requirements


  • Minimum of 5+ years’ pharma industry experience in Downstream process development (if PhD qualified); or
  • Minimum of 7+ years’ pharma industry experience in Downstream process development (if MSc qualified); or
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ pharma industry experience in Downstream process development (if BSc/BE qualified).
  • Excellent technical skills (AKTA Chromatography and TFF experience) including troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with either process design, process development, process characterisation or MS&T
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and inter-personal skills as well as Project management skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to write and follow an experimental protocol.
  • Self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Good technical writing skills and previous technical presentation experience.
  • Ability to disseminate information to research team and directors.

 

Desirable Skills


  • Experience with multiple modalities is preferred
